Bec Heinrich – Slowing Down to Speed Up, The Impact of Rest on the Performance of Leaders

Bec Heinrich has played many significant roles in the history of our Student Forum, as the NSLF Coordinator, small group facilitator, speaker and friend. The most recent chapter of her life saw her move to Washington DC to finish her Masters degree at Georgetown. We congratulate her on completing her thesis, and commend this piece of work to anyone in a long term leadership role thinking about sustainability. In her paper, Bec investigates the relationship between rest and performance within leadership, drawing on personal experience as inspiration, and analysing the existing discussion surrounding rest and leadership. Bec offers some telling insights into the value and purpose of rest, as well as touching on the essential aspects of successful leadership.
